At Last Real Clipless Bike Pedals, Thanks To Magnets

Clipless pedals are great, but not really clipless, you still have to clip in and out of them and you need special shoes with metal cleats. Now, Mavic has come up with a new take on the the whole clipless thing, using magnets. I must admit that I am intrigued. The pedal system still uses special shoes and the pedals are expensive, but are cheaper than racing-spec alternative and you can actually wear the shoes for walking (though they won’t exactly make a fashion statement); good for people who do a lot of casual riding or cycle commuting.
Price: The Mavic EZ Rider pedals and shoes are priced at $60 and $90, respectively. [Mavic via Coolest Gadgets]
